Convert WebP to PNG
Keep the see-through background of a logo, sticker or icon. PNG stores every pixel and its transparency exactly, so the converted file looks the same as the WebP, edge for edge.
Choose a .webp logo, sticker or screenshot, or a folder of them.

How to convert WebP to PNG
Add the WebP images
Drop one or more .webp files, or a folder, onto the page. Tap Open image on a phone to pick from your files.
Preview the transparency
Transparent areas show over a checkerboard, so you can see exactly which parts will stay see-through in the PNG.
Save the PNG files
Save each PNG, or save the whole batch as a zip. Names stay the same, ending in .png.
FEATURES
What this page does
Transparency kept
The alpha channel goes into the PNG unchanged, including soft, semi-transparent edges around a cut-out or a shadow.
Lossless output
PNG keeps every pixel the WebP decodes to. No second round of compression artifacts, which matters for icons, text and line art.
Optional size cut
Extra small packs the PNG more tightly with OxiPNG. It is slower, and the pixels stay exactly the same.
Folders in one go
Convert a whole pack of stickers or icons at once and save them as a single zip.
PNG or JPG: which should a WebP become?
Choose PNG when the image has transparency, sharp edges or text: logos, icons, stickers, diagrams and screenshots. PNG keeps all of that exactly, and a transparent background stays transparent.
Choose JPG for ordinary photos without transparency. A photo saved as PNG is several times larger than the same photo as a JPG, with no visible benefit. The WebP to JPG page is the better fit there.
Stickers, emoji and chat images
Messaging apps often store stickers as WebP, sometimes animated. To use one in a slide, a document or a design tool, PNG is the safest choice, because almost every program reads PNG transparency correctly.
Animated WebP files open as their first frame. The page tells you when that happens, so you never get a still image by surprise.
Lossless output from a lossy source
A lossy WebP has already lost some detail. Converting it to PNG doesn’t bring that detail back; it freezes the picture exactly as it is now, so nothing more is lost in later edits. That makes PNG a good working copy if you plan to edit the image several times before a final export.
Lossless WebP files, common for screenshots, convert to PNG with no change at all to the pixels.
Is it really private?
The WebP is decoded and written out as PNG by your own browser. Neither the original nor the converted file is sent to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the tab.
Metadata inside the WebP, such as EXIF or XMP, is not copied into the PNG.
You don't have to take our word for it. Three checks:
- Open your browser's developer tools, choose the Network tab, then open and save an image. No request carries your file.
- Open an image here once, then turn on airplane mode and run the same job again. It still works, because nothing needs a server.
- Read the page's response headers: its Content-Security-Policy lets it connect only to this site itself, so there is no outside host a file could go to.

Frequently asked questions
Does converting WebP to PNG keep the transparent background?
Yes. The transparency goes into the PNG exactly, including soft edges and shadows. The preview shows transparent areas over a checkerboard so you can check before saving.
Why is the PNG so much bigger than the WebP?
PNG is lossless, while most WebP images are lossy. Storing every pixel exactly takes more space, especially for photos. For a photo without transparency, JPG is usually the better target.
Is WebP to PNG lossless?
The PNG step is. The PNG holds exactly the pixels the WebP decodes to. If the WebP was lossy, the detail it already lost stays lost.
Can I convert WebP stickers to PNG?
Yes. Static stickers convert directly with their transparency. Animated ones become a still PNG of the first frame.
Can I make the PNG smaller?
Turn on Extra small to pack it more tightly without changing any pixel. Reducing the pixel size in More options makes a bigger difference if the image is larger than you need.
